  • Overall Reflection Statement for Servant Leadership
For my competence in Servant Leadership, I am submitting pictures, evaluations and video which will demonstrate my  experience in leading a short term mission team.  We were able to evangelize and connect local seekers with leaders from  a local student fellowship.  This apparently has never been done in our church's previous trips to China.  Since our return,  we have communicated with the student we have we connected with local believers.  I would say this is a big success
  •  Artifacts
  • Learning Reflection
As I developed and demonstrated servant leadership, I learned that meeting the expectations of the various personality types is very challenging.  I am doing my best learning to provide better feedback and managing expectations.  Taking part in an STM vs leading one is very different.  I learned how to think for the team instead of planning what I need to do.  When I communicate with them better, it gives them assurance and build better trust.

As I learn to lead better, managing expectations on a mission team was a big lesson learned. Being concise, persistent and open is paramount to being a good leader that I learned.  There is no way for me to build trust if I can not forthright with my team.  Also, how I say something is just as important as what I say.
  •  Lifelong Development Statement
As a result of the experiences documented by these artifacts, I will continue to develop in servant leadership by improving on the frequency in communicating news to my team.  I now know it is imperative for the team to be informed as soon as  possible.   This will minimize confusion.
